Fastpitch Travel Team Softball Player ContractIf you have taken your team to the next level and begun playing in fastpitch tournaments, you need to have a separate Softball Player Contract in addition to the contract they may have signed with your Softball League. Having taken the plunge into tournament play, there is a strong chance that you have upgraded the uniforms, added a second uniform, purchased matching helmets, and started investing in training aids or premium softball equipment. As you may or may not know, having to replace just ONE uniform can be VERY EXPENSIVE if not impossible. The best way to handle this situation is with your own Team Softball Player Contract. Outline in the contract that the uniform is the property of the Team but that there are "Usage" fees. You are probably thinking, "I've got great kids and parents and wouldn't ever need a contract". Let me assure you, it just takes one irate parent or even a lazy parent to make this contract GOLDEN. Having this Softball Player Contract in place will greatly assist in resolving any issues should a third party official need to get involved. Trust me, I've been there and done that, and having this signed contract made for a quick and favorable decision. __________________________________________________________
I, ___________________________, have agreed to play solely for the (YOUR TEAM NAME) Fastpitch Softball Team for the period January 01, 2008 through July 31, 2008 and further agree to all terms and conditions set forth below. I agree there are no guarantees about player position or playing time and that these decisions are at the sole discretion of the Coach. I understand there will be ongoing tournament fees, occasional equipment fees, and other miscellaneous fees associated with the expense of funding Team operations and agree to pay all fees by the requested due dates. I agree that the below items listed as ‘Team Ownership’ are the sole property of the (YOUR TEAM NAME) Fastpitch softball team. Any funds, personal property or personal time contributed toward purchasing these items are a non refundable usage fee. In the event the player leaves the team or is dismissed from the team, for any reason, all equipment and uniforms must be returned. If the equipment or uniform is still needed by the team, and in acceptable condition, a reasonable refund will be paid to the parent. This refund will be based on the contributions the parent made toward the purchase of the item as well as the condition and usability of the item at the time it is returned. Any items purchased through these same means, for team or player usage, after the date of this contract, will also be considered ‘team ownership’ and these same stipulations will apply.
