Miken Fastpitch Bat Survey

Because my daughters both swing a Miken fastpitch bat I have to recommend it very highly. It's just so sweet you can hardly feel the ball contact the bat and virtually never any vibration. So I thought I would try to help my readers out by doing a little research and secret shopper survey on Miken bats. As a side note, you are going to have to order any premium bat from a business on the internet. Local Sporting Goods stores simply can't afford to carry them inventory.

I was pretty disappointed with the results of my search. I found the bats without any problem, but the pricing was virtually the same across the board.

While doing the research I ran across two items that really peaked my interest. First, Miken has a new bat called the Halo Light -12. I like long bats but if you get one I would go down in weight by an ounce. Leverage could well make the bat feel heavier. Second, I ran across "Clearance Bats" at Softball.com and they had the Miken 2006 Maniac bat priced at $169.86. That's a GREAT bat at a great price if you don't mind having last year's model. If I was in the market for a bat, I would jump on that deal.

Now for the results of the survey. I didn't go to every internet site, but I went to what I believe to be the five big guys in the bat business.

Looking at those prices really makes the Miken 2006 Maniac fastpitch bat for $169.86 look like a pretty good deal. Since it is on clearance the size selection will start to diminish so I wouldn't wait too long.

As for the stores mentioned above, I only have experience and or knowledge of Softball.com and softballjunk. My experience with softball.com has all been positive and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend them.
